2018 Rope Rescue Challenge

At this year’s national challenge the rope rescue discipline will kick off with an extended educational workshop titled Attending Barriatric Incidents. The workshop will run on Thursday 27th September ahead of the open ceremony at Cardiff Gate training centre and will follow on from the NFCC National Safe Working at Height Group Meeting. The workshop is being led by Outreach Rescue and is open to any fire and rescue service personnel that would like to attend.

The main challenge days will run 27th and 28th September where the participating team will be exposed to a variety of scenarios and skill sets that utilise some of the natural dock features at the Roald Dahl Plass. There will also be challenges at a purpose built training structure and an office block. Teams will be assessed on their command, technical and medical skills.
